Art Nouveau in Brussels
Representing Architectural Heritage through 3D Reconstruction

This event presents recent research on the digital reconstruction of architectural heritage in Brussels, focusing on two major works: the Maison du Peuple by Victor Horta, a key figure of Art Nouveau, and the Stoclet Palace by Josef Hoffmann, a major landmark of the Vienna Secession. Through video capsules and short lectures, the speakers explore how 3D modeling contributes to documenting, understanding, and transmitting architectural heritage – including buildings that have disappeared or remain inaccessible to the public. They will focus on how the hypothetical dimension of these digital reconstructions is made explicit and accessible in order to support further research.
